The Launchpad application displays when CIT opens. Launchpad is used to connect to and disconnect from the CAN bus, open CIT applications, and manage projects. The project tree below the toolbar shows the devices on the CAN bus. The contents of the project tree depend upon whether a CIT project is open:

• If there isn't an open CIT project, the project tree contains buttons for creating a new project and scanning for devices:

  

• If a CIT project is open, the project tree contains a top node known as the system node. The system node contains device nodes for the devices on the CAN bus. In the following example, the system node is labelled as Vehicle System and there are device nodes for motor controller, steering, pump, and gauge devices:
