  3. Select Project » Project Explorer.

  4. Select the node for the device.

  5. Click Edit Device.

  6. From the Device dropdown, select the profile to update the device with.

  7. Click OK.

  8. Click OK if the Merge Report, VCL Warning, or Pack Flash Warning dialog displays.

  9. Click OK to exit Project Explorer and return to Launchpad.

  10. Send an NMT message that changes the device to the pre-operational state.

  11. Click  or select Communication » Connect to connect CIT to the CAN bus.

  12. Select the system node.

Tip: If you select a device node, the Package and Flash application is not available. (For information on system and device nodes, see Launchpad.)

  13. Click the Package and Flash button.

  14. Click the Yes button in the Packages Updated dialog. CIT increments the package version number and changes the statuses of the device’s primary OS and application package to Update Required.

Note: Users who need to package a custom menu, VCL application, etc., would follow a separate procedure, which will be described in a future CIT Quick Start guide.
  15. Select Flash » Update All.

  16. Press OK in the Flash Update dialog.

The status bar shows the status of the updates, and the adjacent icon turns red. Flashing is finished when the status bar indicates 100% (0/0) and the icon is gray:

To verify that the correct version of the device profile was successfully flashed, check the device properties. See View Device Properties.
