The current CIT version does not support any PCAN Drivers beyond 3.x
To make sure CIT works smoothly please check the PCAN Driver version you have installed. If you have a version greater than 3.x then please uninstall and reinstall version 3.x or below.
Steps-by-step guide for the workflow:
- In search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, then select from the menu.
- Expand CAN-Hardware list item; you should see PCAN-USB displayed as an option
- Right Click on PCAN-USB
- Select Properties
- Go to the tab named Driver; you should see the currently installed version here next to Driver Version
- If the version is greater than 3.x then click the Uninstall Device button
- On the pop-up window, make sure you check the checkbox for “Delete the driver software for this device.”
- Click Uninstall
- Restart your computer/laptop
- Re-install PCAN Driver by using CIT (Launchpad> Tools> Driver Install> PEAK System PCAN-USB)
- After re-installing, please check the version once again to avoid any further issues
Alternatively, if you require the latest version of the PCAN Drivers, you can launch PCAN-view and connect to create a virtual network, which CIT will be able to detect and use. This will need to be done every time the computer is restarted, or any time an application removes the virtual network.
