How do I change the baud rate?

To change the baud rate of devices in a CIT project, first change the parameters that specifies the devices' baud rates, then change the project's baud rate:

Important: You must change the devices' baud rate parameters before changing the project's baud rate.

  1. Click Connect icon or select Communication » Connect to connect to the CAN bus.

  2. Perform one of the following steps:
    • To change one device's baud rate parameter, select its device node.
    • To change multiple devices' baud rate parameters, you'll probably prefer to select the project's system node. When you select the system node, Programmer will display menus for all of the project's devices.
  3. Click the Programmer button.

  4. In Programmer, find the parameter that specifies the device's baud rate. (The parameter name depends upon the device.)

  5. Specify the new baud rate.

  6. If the project includes other devices, repeat steps 3–5 for each device. All the devices must be configured with the same baud rate.

  7. Go to Launchpad.

  8. In the status bar, click the baud rate, then select the new baud rate from the list that pops up.

  9. Cycle the vehicle system's keyswitch.

  10. Save the project.
